About the Upcoming Event

This year, from April 26th to 28th, the second edition of Startup Weekend Ohrid will be held on the premises of "Apostol Pavle" University. Startup Weekend Ohrid is an event intended for all young enthusiasts who have a business idea or project, but need a team, resources, or mentoring support to realize it.

After the successful implementation of 12 editions of Startup Weekend Skopje, the team behind Startup Macedonia, supported by the Startup Weekend Skopje team and a large number of founders and startup enthusiasts, will organize the second edition of Startup Weekend in Ohrid to provide an opportunity for networking to the new generation of young professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators and startup enthusiasts as well as a chance to develop and launch your startup in Macedonia.

Famous names like Cognism, Adeva, Excelerate, HeyReach, Native teams, FitKit, Konceptiva, and corporations Oracle, NLB Banka, IT Labs, and SEDC are the only companies supporting this event.

What is Startup Weekend?

Startup Weekend is a global event/hackathon that aims to gather young professionals, freelancers, and startup enthusiasts in one location to form a team to develop a business idea from concept to prototype within 54 hours or a weekend. The participants form a team where they implement and test the idea and the project they will work on.

The teams will develop their ideas with the support of over 40 mentors (startup founders and experts) and present their concepts to a jury of distinguished IT professionals, businessmen, and investors.

Where is it held?

Ohrid is a new location for Startup Weekend and will be held on the premises of the University "St. Paul the Apostle" during the weekend from April 26th to 28th. This is an ideal place to connect young people passionate about creating and innovating something new. There is no better place to meet friends, colleagues, mentors, and investors.

Who can participate?

Everyone can participate in Startup Weekend Ohrid, with or without an idea, student or professional, young people with or without experience. Get ready for a weekend full of work, fellowship, learning and fun, where the idea gets the opportunity to grow into reality!
